Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not (Exodus 16:4). And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians. 4:19). Let’s look at an Old Testament thought today for our message. God started teaching humanity about His provision for our lives through the manna that fell from heaven every morning after the children of Israel escaped from Egypt and were on their way to the Promised Land. We cannot deny that this was God’s miraculous provision for His people, praise God I’m so thrilled to say that He’s still meeting His people’s needs. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Heb. 13:8). But please understand this old testament truth, these Israelites had to go gather this manna daily. God wants to give us His best, but there are things we must to do to receive God’s blessings on our lives. Our first and foremost duty is to be obedient to God by obeying His Word. "But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing". (1 Thess. 4:10-12). The message is clear; we should pray as though everything depends on God, and we should work as though everything depends on us. When we do this God will without fail do His part, He is no respecter of persons. God is with us and He is faithful as proclaimed in the following scriptures : Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; (Deut. 7:9) Abraham, who is the father of us all, as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be. And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification. (Romans. 4:16-25) “Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses. (1 Kings 8:56) If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy. 2:13) God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:9) Praise God for His word, Oh! It’s wonderful. Praying For You, Pastor Durden
