What's a biblical worldview?

A biblical worldview is based on the infallible Word of God. When you believe the Bible is entirely true, then you allow it to be the foundation of everything you say and do. That means, for instance, you take seriously the mandate in Romans 13 to honor the governing authorities by researching the candidates and issues, making voting a priority.

Do you have a biblical worldview? Answer the following questions, based on claims found in the Bible and which George Barna used in his survey:

  • Do absolute moral truths exist?
  • Is absolute truth defined by the Bible?
  • Did Jesus Christ live a sinless life?
  • Is God the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe, and does He still rule it today?
  • Is salvation a gift from God that cannot be earned?
  • Is Satan real?
  • Does a Christian have a responsibility to share his or her faith in Christ with other people?
  • Is the Bible accurate in all of its teachings?

Did you answer yes to these? Only 9 percent of "born- again" believers did. But what's more important than your yes to these questions is whether your life shows it. Granted, we are all sinners and fall short, but most of our gut reactions will reflect what we deep-down, honest-to-goodness believe to be real and true.

Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year. Joshua 5:12

It goes without saying that each of us desire God’s touch on our lives, but may I remind us, there is a price to pay for God’s touch.  This price does not consist of dollars and cents, but in our love for Him, our commitment, and many other things.

Every miracle has two parts, our part, and God’s part.  God gave the Israelites manna every morning, but they had to gather it up, they did something; Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.” (Exodus 16:4).  Jesus told many people He was about to heal and provide, but they had to take action themselves. We must understand you don’t just work for God’s blessings, but on the flip side He doesn’t just give hand-outs either.  He wants us to demonstrate our trust, faith, confidence and involvement in Him and then He will release His healing power and victories.

When God wants something done understand most of the time He does not send angels, He could, but He wants to use us. I say "glory to God, use me"!

We are His hands, His mouth piece, His voice, His feet, I say "Wow! Oh God use us as an instrument for your glory".  Remember the fish truth in Luke 5; it wasn’t good till Jesus got in the boat, Oh!  That we will let God get in our boat because when He does, there is the difference.  Ask yourself are you willing for God to use you, He wants to.
