My Utmost for His Highest. "Lord, I will follow Thee; but . . ." Luke 9:61 Supposing God tells you to do something which is an enormous test to your common sense, what are you going to do? Hang back? If you get into the habit of doing a thing in the physical domain, you will do it every time until you break the habit determinedly; and the same is true spiritually. Read More...

The Answer For Evil. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. (Psalm 53:1)
How it was that 60 million perished following the Bolshevik revolution? 'Men have forgotten God' - that's why all this happened. All attempts to find a way out of the plight of today's world are fruitless unless we redirect our consciousness, in repentance, to the Creator of all: Without this, no exit will be illumined, and we shall seek it in vain." - Alexander Solzhenitsyn

And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4) As a Pastor and a father of two children I have been involved in a lot of situations as it relates to family matters that have been very unpleasant.
I have dealt with a number of situations where the children did not know who their Dads were. Dads please hear me, by no means am I a perfect father. It really goes without saying, we know it is our responsibility to provide for our families, but there is a dire need in our world today to provide our families with spiritual direction. As parents we must know our children are watching us and in many cases are going to follow in our footsteps.
The Bible tells us that David failed as a father to Absalom and heartache followed the whole family (2 Sam. 13-19). David repented, but his son did not. Who is raising our children; the church, a grand parent, the daycare, or a foster parent? The greatest thing we can give our children is ourself. Let us be a dad that loves God, loves his family, and one who takes care of his own.
If God is not a priority for your family; if church is not important enough to involve them in Sunday school and other wholesome areas provided by the church; don’t expect them to want to be involved in church when they get older. I once heard a parent ask their child, "do you want to go to church today?". That should not be. Let us be Godly, God fearing parents.
For His Cause, Pastor Durden
