I decided to become an astrophysicist at the age of eight. I read all the physics and astronomy books in the children’s section of my library. My family supported my voracious appetite for knowledge. My teachers assigned me lots of extra-curricular projects in the social sciences, which eventually sparked my spiritual quest. "It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth forever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God." – II Chronicles 5:13-14 It is our hope to inspire, encourage, train, and direct those whom God has called into the music ministry with a spirit of service, excellence, sensitivity, purity, humility and strength. Choir rehersals are on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the green room of the Family Life Center. A nursery is provided for both rehersals. The nursery is located in the main sanctuary building. Volunteer Requirements for the Adult Choir - Have attended Monroe for 3 months
- Will attend 4 weeks rehersals before very first performance
- At least 16 years old
- Complete a successful audition
- Attend weekly rehearsals
- Be able to sing in at least 1 service per week
- Will commit to at least 1 full year of ministry with the choir
- Committed to worshipping the Lord
How to Get Involved: Pick up a Monroe Church Worker Application for music. This form will have the Adult Choir / Band / Sound / Media Signup on the backside. Return the completed application to the church office or the information booth.
