Where Is God In Wartime? Where is God amidst the horrors of war? How do soldiers keep their faith in God’s goodness amidst the suffering and slaughter of battle? American soldiers and sailors, airmen and Marines have asked questions like these ever since the War for Independence. The questions occupy their thoughts and find their way from faraway battlefields into letters to loved ones. Read More...

Gay Marriage: Even Liberals Know It's Bad. Why not legalize same-sex marriage? Who could it possibly hurt? Children and the rest of society. That’s the conclusion of David Blankenhorn, who is anything but an anti-gay “bigot.” He is a life-long, pro-gay, liberal democrat who disagrees with the Bible’s prohibitions against homosexual behavior. Are Atheists really just as Moral as Christians? One of the complaints that I often hear is that “Atheists are just as moral as Christians are”. The response is usually made when I present the Moral Argument. Well I always try to clarify that I never said or meant that atheists ARE immoral, just that they have no rational basis for their morality. Read More...

Why you OUGHT to Judge. Jesus isn’t telling us not to judge—Jesus is telling us how to judge. He actually commands us to take the speck out of our brother’s eye—that involves making a judgment. But he also commands us to stop committing the bigger sins ourselves so we can better help our brother. Read More...

Associate Pastor Wayne DurdenThe LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John. 3:16,17)

One of the great verses in the bible to me is Romans. 5:5 which talks about the love of God having been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.

You and I are here today because of the love of God. “God is love” He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:8). Love defines the heart of our God. Love is not what you say, it’s what you do. The divine love of God took action when He gave His Son Jesus to die for you and me, yes for you and me. God’s word declares, “I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:16). How does God love us? With an everlasting love! This ought to change how we approach Him in prayer.

The bible records, “He didn’t spare His own son but delivered Him up for us all that we may freely enjoy His touch on our lives” I say, bless His holy name, Read (Romans 8:32). Prayer is not coercing God to do anything for us, but rather communicating with our heavenly Father and preparing our hearts to do the Father’s will. When we pray to our heavenly Father, the focus moves off of any self-centerdness that may be in our lives to God-centerdness and worship. When this happens God is well pleased and will release His blessings into our lives. Pray this prayer with me: "God help me to recognize your great love for me and allow you to be the God you want to be in me, Amen".

You’re loved, Pastor Durden
