I decided to become an astrophysicist at the age of eight. I read all the physics and astronomy books in the children’s section of my library. My family supported my voracious appetite for knowledge. My teachers assigned me lots of extra-curricular projects in the social sciences, which eventually sparked my spiritual quest. In my last year of high school, I studied the Thirty Years’ War for one extra project. I wondered why the Catholics and Protestants shed so much blood over trivial doctrine. I posed tough questions to my teacher, who sent me off to the library to read books on comparative religions. Read More...

Tunnel Vision. In 1971, the troubles in Northern Ireland were increasingly becoming a danger to me and to my six children. We listened to horror stories of suffering every day on the radio. Our personal horror story came the night I was attacked by two gunmen. One beat me while asking me questions about someone’s whereabouts. Although I wasn’t a Christian, I silently prayed for God to help me. Read More...

Associate Pastor Wayne DurdenSo Samuel said:  “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king.” (1 Samuel 15:22-23) But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)

It certainly goes without saying the day we live in is a tough day, a world of unrest in a lot of ways, but we must remember who is in control. It is  certainly not our government or any other agency, but God.

God help we Christians to live by and come under the authority of our God, Note! (2 Corinthians 10:4-6).  The bible teaches us that the child of God must live by Faith in God, not carnality.  The bible records the just shall live by faith, God promised to meet our needs, but we must look to Him and exercise the faith that God has given we believers.

When we read God's word we either go forward in faith or fail to reach our destiny, God's will is to meet our every need, How? According to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  We need to understand God is not running a welfare system there's some things we've got to do, for example God spoke to Simon Peter in (Matthew 17:27) to cast his hook into the water and the fish he caught would have the money in the fish's mouth to pay his temple tax, weird right, but it's in God's word.  Peter obeyed by faith, he could have said Lord, that's crazy.

Another example, Saul failed to live by faith, this among other things led to his rebelling against God.

God forbid that we'll let anything bound us that's not God's will.
