2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humblethemselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Where Is God In Wartime? Where is God amidst the horrors of war? How do soldiers keep their faith in God’s goodness amidst the suffering and slaughter of battle? American soldiers and sailors, airmen and Marines have asked questions like these ever since the War for Independence. The questions occupy their thoughts and find their way from faraway battlefields into letters to loved ones. Read More...

Are Atheists really just as Moral as Christians? One of the complaints that I often hear is that “Atheists are just as moral as Christians are”. The response is usually made when I present the Moral Argument. Why you OUGHT to Judge. Jesus isn’t telling us not to judge—Jesus is telling us how to judge. He actually commands us to take the speck out of our brother’s eye—that involves making a judgment. ‘And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing; and he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD for his sin which he has committed, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin. (Leviticus 5:5-6)Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)
As we look today at the brazen altar, my thought goes to the book of Hebrews that simply says, we have an "altar", I'm wondering do we as God's children have an "altar"?
Scripture tells us, the brazen altar was where the children of Israel repented of their sins and were able to make atonement for them. The brazen altar was the symbol of the cross of Christ, and it was there the sinner bowed in repentance and found cleansing through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. What about repentance? To repent simply, yet profoundly means to turn around, meaning, we're going a new way, the old has died, the new has arrived, Praise God.
Please understand, it's not just about feelings, repentance is an act of our will followed by action based on God's word.
When we repent and turn to God, it produces power with God; it will produce miracle-working faith in our great God. Faith is a gift from God (Eph. 2:8). We must repent to qualify for this gift of faith, read (Hebrews 11:6).
