Psalms 1:1-3. Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

All my life, I wanted to be a head football coach of an NFL team more than anything else. At times, I even wanted it more than God or my family. I bought right into the world’s game plan. waynedurden.jpgYou shall take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour all the blood beside the base of the altar (Exodus 29:12). The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple (Psalm. 119:130).

It can never be said enough, God's Word is a "lamp to our feet a light to our path." The brazen altar had horns on its four corners. These horns represent strength and power according to the following scriptures; Dan. 8:5,9; Deut. 33:17; Joshua 6:4,5 and 1 Sam. 2:1,13.

These horns point in a symbolic fashion to Christ and are found in the expression "horn of salvation," meaning a salvation of strength (Luke 1:69). Please understand that our salvation is based on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is solid, firm, and as a matter of fact it can never be defeated.  We may deny it, but the salvation plan of God will never be defeated.

In Romans 1:16, Paul made this powerful statement, "for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ".  I say "wow," the gospel message of the shed blood of Jesus Christ is heaven's atomic power to those who love and serve our Lord. If there was no death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ there is no salvation plan and each of us would be doomed to a devil's hell. A dead Christ cannot save anybody, but a living Christ that has conquered death, hell, and the grave will save all people that call upon his name!  Praise God, because He lives we live, and we can face anything that comes our way.

Love Each Of You, Pastor Durden
