Children's Letters To God

Dear GOD,
Did you mean for the giraffe to look like that or was it an  accident?   - Norma

Dear GOD,
Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones,  why don't You just keep the ones You have now?  - Jane

Dear GOD,
Who draws the lines around the countries?    -  Nan

Dear GOD,
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church.  Is that  okay?   -  Neil

Dear GOD,
What does it mean You are a Jealous God?  I thought You had  everything.   -  Jane

Dear GOD,
Did you really mean "do unto others as they do unto you"?  Because if you did, then I'm going to fix my brother!
 - Darla

Dear GOD,
Please send me a pony.  I never asked for anything before, You can look it up.   - Bruce

Dear GOD,
I bet it is very hard for You to love all of everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I can never do it.   - Nan

To See or Not To See

My face in the mirror
isn’t wrinkled or drawn;
My house isn’t dirty
the cobwebs are gone.
My garden looks lovely
and so does my lawn;
I think I might never
put my glasses back on!

Side Pain

At Sunday school they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, Johnny what is the matter? Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."

waynedurden.jpgI have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me (Psalm 119:30).  And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” ( John 3:19-21).

Light, I love the light, I don’t like dark rooms. The light shows us the way. It let’s us know ahead of time any obstacles that would be in the way. Let’s see what the laver says about the light of the gospel.

In the book of James we discover that God’s Word is like a mirror. When we read the word we’ll discover who we really are. Notice James 1:22-25, it says, be doers of the word and not hearers only, these scriptures also challenge us to look into the perfect law of liberty. The basin of the bronze laver acted like a mirror to those who came to wash their hands (Exodus 30:20).

When you washed before going to make a sacrifice that would atone for your sins, you would first look into the laver and see your worst enemy: who was yourself. Mirrors do not lie. You are the reason that an animal’s life was going to be shed for sin. Praise God that His Word is a mirror to our souls. The Holy Ghost inspired the writings and truth of this word and oh that we will let it shine in our lives. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:32 & 36.).
