Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.
Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, Johnny what is the matter? Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife." 4. |

The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John. 3:16,17)
One of the great verses in the bible to me is Romans. 5:5 which talks about the love of God having been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.
You and I are here today because of the love of God. “God is love” He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:8). Love defines the heart of our God. Love is not what you say, it’s what you do. The divine love of God took action when He gave His Son Jesus to die for you and me, yes for you and me. God’s word declares, “I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:16). How does God love us? With an everlasting love! This ought to change how we approach Him in prayer.
The bible records, “He didn’t spare His own son but delivered Him up for us all that we may freely enjoy His touch on our lives” I say, bless His holy name, Read (Romans 8:32). Prayer is not coercing God to do anything for us, but rather communicating with our heavenly Father and preparing our hearts to do the Father’s will. When we pray to our heavenly Father, the focus moves off of any self-centerdness that may be in our lives to God-centerdness and worship. When this happens God is well pleased and will release His blessings into our lives. Pray this prayer with me: "God help me to recognize your great love for me and allow you to be the God you want to be in me, Amen".
You’re loved, Pastor Durden
