Children's Letters To God

Dear GOD,
Did you mean for the giraffe to look like that or was it an  accident?   - Norma

Dear GOD,
Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones,  why don't You just keep the ones You have now?  - Jane

Dear GOD,
Who draws the lines around the countries?    -  Nan

Dear GOD,
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church.  Is that  okay?   -  Neil

Dear GOD,
What does it mean You are a Jealous God?  I thought You had  everything.   -  Jane

Dear GOD,
Did you really mean "do unto others as they do unto you"?  Because if you did, then I'm going to fix my brother!
 - Darla

Dear GOD,
Please send me a pony.  I never asked for anything before, You can look it up.   - Bruce

Dear GOD,
I bet it is very hard for You to love all of everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I can never do it.   - Nan

To See or Not To See

My face in the mirror
isn’t wrinkled or drawn;
My house isn’t dirty
the cobwebs are gone.
My garden looks lovely
and so does my lawn;
I think I might never
put my glasses back on!

Side Pain

At Sunday school they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, Johnny what is the matter? Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."

Associate Pastor Wayne DurdenAh, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. (Jeremiah 32:17). For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

Power, what a word, over the years, even to this day mankind continues to seek for power, may I add, power in itself is not evil, but we must ask ourselves the question, why are we seeking for power?

Our Lord preached a gospel of power, the Kingdom of God was established through the might and power of God. Jesus said, "For yours is the kingdom and the power" (Matthew. 6:13). Jesus healed those with diseases and various infirmities, He raised the dead, He cast out demons, He stilled storms, that's power. He spoke the word and miracles took place that's power (Matthew 26:64). John 1:12 a very powerful scripture, "For as many as received Him to them gave the power to become the sons of God."

We can at times exercise power over people, but then there is power with people. Jesus founded the Kingdom of God on the power of love. He didn't assume the role of some kind of dictator with power over the people, cracking the whip so to speak, but He served us and became our Saviour, thus demonstrating by example His great power. Oh! the power and love of God. Remember! Jesus said, "Come unto me", are we taking advantage of this? Let's do it!
