Children's Letters To God

Dear GOD,
Did you mean for the giraffe to look like that or was it an  accident?   - Norma

Dear GOD,
Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones,  why don't You just keep the ones You have now?  - Jane

Dear GOD,
Who draws the lines around the countries?    -  Nan

Dear GOD,
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church.  Is that  okay?   -  Neil

Dear GOD,
What does it mean You are a Jealous God?  I thought You had  everything.   -  Jane

Dear GOD,
Did you really mean "do unto others as they do unto you"?  Because if you did, then I'm going to fix my brother!
 - Darla

Dear GOD,
Please send me a pony.  I never asked for anything before, You can look it up.   - Bruce

Dear GOD,
I bet it is very hard for You to love all of everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I can never do it.   - Nan

To See or Not To See

My face in the mirror
isn’t wrinkled or drawn;
My house isn’t dirty
the cobwebs are gone.
My garden looks lovely
and so does my lawn;
I think I might never
put my glasses back on!

Side Pain

At Sunday school they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, Johnny what is the matter? Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."

Associate Pastor Wayne DurdenAnd Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word” (1 Kings 17:1).  “If you love Me, keep My commandments" (John 14:15). Please keep this scripture in mind as you read this article, you will see how much it fits what we're going to say.

In the very beginning (Gen. 1:26) God gave Adam responsibility to rule over the garden of Eden, and have "dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air, over the cattle, and all creeping things."  Authority is given; it should never be assumed, which is a terrible mistake.  Noah had authority and direction from God to build an ark. (Gen. 6)

Moses had authority to lead the children out of Egypt (Exodus 3).  Abraham under God's authority formed a new nation (Gen. 12), these individuals had directions and authority from God.  In 2 Kings Elijah is called "a man of God" this was a term used when God manifested His might and power in His man.

Let's look at another biblical example of Elijah when he approached King Ahab and said to him it's not going to rain til I speak the word (1 Kings 17:1).  These are examples of the authority given by God.  These men didn't just assume the authority.  How does all of this affect us as christians?  We are commanded to do the Father's will and please remember as our God gave these men authority, He is the same today, and He wants to use us Praise God.  God help us to submit to the will of God and be an instrument in His hands for God's glory. (Deut. 28) Let's us know that all of God's blessings are found in obeying Him.  Remember obedience to God is better than sacrifice.  Let's be obedient.
