My Utmost for His Highest. "Lord, I will follow Thee; but . . ." Luke 9:61 Supposing God tells you to do something which is an enormous test to your common sense, what are you going to do? Hang back? If you get into the habit of doing a thing in the physical domain, you will do it every time until you break the habit determinedly; and the same is true spiritually. Read More...

The Answer For Evil. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. (Psalm 53:1)

How it was that 60 million perished following the Bolshevik revolution? 'Men have forgotten God' - that's why all this happened. All attempts to find a way out of the plight of today's world are fruitless unless we redirect our consciousness, in repentance, to the Creator of all: Without this, no exit will be illumined, and we shall seek it in vain." - Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Associate Pastor Wayne DurdenThen Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10 and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? 11is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.”  And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand (Acts 13:9-11).

This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18 And this she did for many days.  But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour (Acts 16:17-18).

Oh!  how wonderful it is as a christian to have power and authority with our great God. I suppose to many it sounds strange to say that we mortal beings can have power and authority with God, but according to His word we can.

However, we should never forget we must follow His plan and allow His spirit to direct us, (Roans 8:14).   There is a difference in spiritual authority and power and we need to recognize this.  For example a policeman has both power and authority.  If he or she is standing in the road and has their hand up, you stop, that's authority.  If you don't stop more than likely your going to be in alot of trouble.  If you try to hurt them they'll probably shoot you, that's power.  If we as His children are walking in obedience to His word and are under His authority, then we have power with Him through the Holy Ghost.

We discover in God's word for example that Paul the apostle was given authority to preach the gospel along with power to cast out evil spirits (Acts 16:18).  Peter is another example of having authority and power with our God, note the confrontation with Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11).  God help us to submit completely our lives to Jesus Christ so He will give us authority and power to use for His glory.  Pray this with me, Father in Jesus name I submit myself to you, use me for your glory, amen.

For His Glory, Pastor Durden
