Psalms 1:1-3. Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

All my life, I wanted to be a head football coach of an NFL team more than anything else. At times, I even wanted it more than God or my family. I bought right into the world’s game plan. In my eyes, being a head coach would give me all the things I wanted, like money and prestige. My goal became an obsession. Read More...

Then the men of David said to him, "This is the day of which the LORD said to you, ‘Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.'" And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe. Now it happened afterward that David's heart troubled him because he had cut Saul's robe. And he said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD." (1 Samuel 24:4-6)
God help us as Christians to be obedient to Jesus Christ and God's holy word. Remember God's word says, obedience to God is better than sacrifice.
Moses was the leader of several million people. God's word describes Moses as very humble, more so than most men (Numbers 12:3). You will note as you read about Moses he was obedient to authority. Note in our scripture text, it says, "Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hands", but you can tell as you read further in our text that Moses was concerned about being to hard on his enemy. Notice the make up of a person under authority, he or she has a tender heart and doesn't want to be to harsh because they're trying to be led by the spirit, (Romans 8:14).
We cannot rejoice in any authority we have and be as obedient as we should to the leading of God's spirit. Here is some of the characteristics of being under authority, God forbid that we have the mentality that know one's gonna tell me what to do, that's not God's plan. The person under authority exemplifies meekness, love, peace, faith, humility, prayerfulness, longsuffering, and gentleness. Oh! God help me to always come under the authority of those over me in the Lord and our leaders as long as it does no violence to the scripture.
God forbid that our egos or selfishness or arrogrance will get in our way of submitting to God, for when it's all said and done He's the only one who has the answer to life's difficulties. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct[a] your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
