For a number of weeks now we’ve talked about spiritual authority. Let’s switch gears starting today, we ask the question is our arch-enemy Satan real?
Behind every temptation there is a tempter. Behind every sin there is one who wants to kill, steal, and destroy. Behind every lie there is the father of lies. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Cor. 10:13. God’s word is crystal clear, there is a real devil who showed his ugly head in the garden of Eden and deceived and seduced Adam and Eve (Genesis 3). This same evil one tempted our Lord in the wilderness (Matthew 4), but praise God our Lord was victorious, because of that, we too can be overcomers. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:9). Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven and deceived the world, the bible lets us know he’s the father of all lies (Jn. 8:44) and accuses God’s children (Rev. 12:10) and is the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2). Allow me to remind us that Jesus taught us to pray, “Deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:13). Our God still has the power to set us free, read (John. 8:32 & 36) don’t ever forget we serve a risen savior, we’re gonna make it, Oh! yes we are.
