Isaiah 40:31. But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
I decided to become an astrophysicist at the age of eight. I read all the physics and astronomy books in the children’s section of my library. My family supported my voracious appetite for knowledge. My teachers assigned me lots of extra-curricular projects in the social sciences, which eventually sparked my spiritual quest. In my last year of high school, I studied the Thirty Years’ War for one extra project. I wondered why the Catholics and Protestants shed so much blood over trivial doctrine. I posed tough questions to my teacher, who sent me off to the library to read books on comparative religions. Read More...
Tunnel Vision. In 1971, the troubles in Northern Ireland were increasingly becoming a danger to me and to my six children. We listened to horror stories of suffering every day on the radio. Our personal horror story came the night I was attacked by two gunmen. One beat me while asking me questions about someone’s whereabouts. Although I wasn’t a Christian, I silently prayed for God to help me.Read More...
According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it. (Exodus 25:9) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105) The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. (Psalm 119:130)
For the next few weeks we’ll begin a brand new study on the tabernacle. Oh! How beautiful and precious is God’s word, it’s a lamp unto our feet a light unto our path.
We may not understand all of God’s word but if we’ll apply ourselves to study the Holy Spirit will teach us and guide us. The tabernacle is a major symbolism of every major theme in the New Testament. The tabernacle was the sacred tent-temple that Moses erected for the services of God. He did so according to the exact pattern given by our Lord. Think about this, only one chapter of God’s word is given to the story of creation, less than chapter is given to the Ten Commandments. Note! this, there are fifteen chapters beginning in Exodus chapter 25 thru 40 on the tabernacle and a lot of the book of Hebrews in the New Testament is dedicated to the tabernacle.
I believe this represents urgency in the mind of God. We need to understand every detail of the tabernacle was designed by God, why, would this be? Because every detail, every fabric, board, piece of metal, furnishing, animal skin, rod, the oil, the light, and the bread was a revelation of Jesus Christ.
Stay tuned for the next few weeks as we walk through the tabernacle, I believe we will be blessed.
