Psalms 1:1-3. Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Associate Pastor Wayne Durden‘If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the LORD.  Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.  He shall kill the bull before the LORD; and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of meeting. Leviticus 1:3-5

Isn't the word of God beautiful! The more you discover the more there is to see. The Word is still a lamp to our feet so let's follow that light.

We continue on with further thoughts on the brazen altar.  At this altar, the blood of the animal to be sacrificed was poured around the base of the altar.  The question is asked, why?  It foreshadowed the day that Christ would shed His blood on the cross for all humanity. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. (John 19:34).  I know of no one who deserved for Jesus to die for them, but Praise God He shed His blood for each of us.  He paid a debt He did not owe; we owed a debt we could not pay.

Every detail in the tabernacle symbolizes the life of Jesus Christ.  Every theme in the New Testament is proclaimed in the tabernacle.  For example, the ashes of the burned sacrifice were removed to a clean spot (Leviticus. 6:8-13) This speaks to us of our Lord being removed from the cross and taken to a clean place, a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid (John 19:41).  You may think this a strange scripture to close with, Ps. 119:130, the entrance of Thy Word giveth light, it giveth understanding unto the simple.
