I've been thinking I would like to go to church, but I don't know anyone.
I don't know what to do, where to go, what to expect when I get there. It's hard and it feels awkward to do anything for the first few times. Here are some suggestions:
Have you noticed a church near you or one you drive by often? If not, check the phone book. Call the church office. You should find a friendly voice to talk to. (Some churches don't have a full-time staff. If no ones there leave a message so they can get back to you.)
If you'd like, ask to be matched up with someone in the church, any of us would love to meet you even before you attend. That way, you will know someone before you come!
Also, we could pick you up Sunday morning, meet you for breakfast or coffee before church or at least meet you in the parking lot to show you where to go and what to do.
Stop by a church on a weekday and ask someone to show you around so the place doesn't feel so foreign when you come on Sunday.
Just show up. Check out when the worship service starts. Many churches have greeters to help you as you enter the sanctuary. If you'd like, ask them to introduce you to someone you can sit with.

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.(Psalm 119:9). I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me. (Psalm 119:30).
In the next few weeks let's talk about the Holy Name of God. I remind us at the beginning what a Mighty God we serve. After we've acknowledged God as our "Heavenly Father" in the Lord's Prayer, Jesus taught us to reverence or to honor His name. Note: (Luke 11:2) .
All sincere and true praying begins and ends with reverence for God, not just going to Him with a buffet list of wants and or needs. We must reverence our God when we go into His presence, that's a must. Real true and honest prayer really starts when we adore and worship our Father's Holy name. Let's look at the word "hallowed" and what it means. It means, "may your name be kept holy" the word "Hallowed" comes from the greek word hagios, which means "holy". (Jude 20) says our faith is a "holy faith." (Revelation. 21:2) talks about the "Holy City, New Jerusalem." The Bible talks about the Holy Spirit. Worship around God's throne goes like this "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of Hosts" (Isaiah 6:3). The Word of God says to us, "and you shall be holy, for the Lord is holy and has separated you unto Him," note (Leviticus 20:26) What an Awesome God we serve, Never forget He loves you.
