Children's Letters To God

Dear GOD,
Did you mean for the giraffe to look like that or was it an  accident?   - Norma

Dear GOD,
Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones,  why don't You just keep the ones You have now?  - Jane

Dear GOD,
Who draws the lines around the countries?    -  Nan

Dear GOD,
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church.  Is that  okay?   -  Neil

Dear GOD,
What does it mean You are a Jealous God?  I thought You had  everything.   -  Jane

Dear GOD,
Did you really mean "do unto others as they do unto you"?  Because if you did, then I'm going to fix my brother!
 - Darla

Dear GOD,
Please send me a pony.  I never asked for anything before, You can look it up.   - Bruce

Dear GOD,
I bet it is very hard for You to love all of everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I can never do it.   - Nan

To See or Not To See

My face in the mirror
isn’t wrinkled or drawn;
My house isn’t dirty
the cobwebs are gone.
My garden looks lovely
and so does my lawn;
I think I might never
put my glasses back on!

Side Pain

At Sunday school they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, Johnny what is the matter? Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."

Why do we do the things we do and say? Quite a question, isn't it?

Do we understand the war that goes on in our inner being as it relates to doing what is right or wrong? Do we, in obedience to our inner voice which is our conscience, endeavor to do what is right contrary to what many say is just old fashion and needs to be done away with?

Paul let's us know, in 1 Thess. 5:23, that mankind has a threefold nature, a very interesting thing. Note! What God's word says, "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless". Praise God, this is beautiful!

We are body, soul, and spirit. We all understand that we relate to the outside world through the five senses that each of us have. At the very heart of our being is our spiritual side, the conscience, where the voice of God speaks to each of us and endeavors to guide us. Read Rom 8:14. In the arena of our soul, we will make up our mind whether we obey the voice of God or the flesh. Understand, to obey the flesh brings about disobedience to God and to obey opens the door for the blessings of heaven; God help us not to allow the fleshly man to control us but to be obedient to the great spirit of God. Again, read Rom. 8:14. Oh! For His touch on our lives.

With a lot of Love, Pastor Durden
