To See or Not To See
My face in the mirror isn’t wrinkled or drawn; My house isn’t dirty the cobwebs are gone. My garden looks lovely and so does my lawn; I think I might never put my glasses back on!
Side Pain
At Sunday school they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.
Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, Johnny what is the matter? Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."
MONROE - Since it opened its doors last fall, The Rock Student Center in downtown Monroe has bloomed into one of the largest attractions to local youth. Every Thursday, the faith-based adolescent hangout offers food, games and supervised leisure to scores of Monroe kids and director Howard Forman said the center was still going strong.
The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple (Psalm 119:130).Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me (Psalm 51:1-3).
We will share a few more thoughts with you this week and next on the Laver, interesting isn’t it? Then we’ll talk some more about the tabernacle.
I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me (Psalm 119:30). And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” ( John 3:19-21).
Light, I love the light, I don’t like dark rooms. The light shows us the way. It let’s us know ahead of time any obstacles that would be in the way. Let’s see what the laver says about the light of the gospel.
I have chosen the way of truth; Your judgments I have laid before me (Psalm 119:30). Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully (Psalm 24:3, 4).
It's always been amazing to me that even in the Old Testament God called for His people to be a holy people, may I say to all reading this message, we've got to be a holy people if we expect to get into and live in God's presence.
The children of Israel brought a freewill offering to the LORD, all the men and women whose hearts were willing to bring material for all kinds of work which the LORD, by the hand of Moses, had commanded to be done (Exodus 35:29. The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple (Psalm 119:30).
Oh! the amazing word of God. Let's continue our thought a little further concerning the Laver. You will discover in (Ex. 38:8) the women of Israel freely gave up their brass mirrors to make the bronze laver for the tabernacle.
